Stingrays are a bottom-dwelling marine ray with a flattened diamond-shaped body and a long poisonous serrated spine at the base of the tail.
These stingrays are swimming in the warm Caribbean waters of the Grand Cayman Islands. You can swim among them in a place called Stingray City. This copper wallhanging is a version of what I saw while swimming among them.
Handmade from copper with the leaves enhanced in a green patina which gives the sculpture an aged look. 2016©Al DeLaVega
